Gouache and quite a few other things, so, got to say, mixed media. Making much of my time at Devizes. I started with painting on paper with very dark (b.umber/ult.marine) acrylic, then sketching blind with black watersoluble crayon, while looking at my sketchbook, rubbing down the crayon a bit then applying gouache on top, refining the rather clumsy stuff (the pots are sometimes a bit clumsy so I wanted to show that) in places. There's also a bit of watersoluble crayon on top in places as well as bits of gum arabic to deepen colour and to confuse the eye over the shapes! Its the shapes and colours and creaminess of gouache that I really wanted to go to town on. Gouache is my favourite medium. Til next time.
Trying to hear them speak and talk for them, these ancient peoples of our lands.
If there's anyone out there who would like to see me in action, making a fool of myself, then I am going to be doing quite a lot of demos and workshops in central/southern England in 2015. I'll put a list of bookings with Art Societies on my tuition page in a minute. In 2016 I'm intending to be mostly quietly painting away, as I hope at last that I am getting into my stride.
