Writer and Artist

Novels of the tenth century, art of the twenty-first
Who am I?

I'm trying to restore meaning to the Wessex landscape, with reminders of folkore, heroes, and gods. Writing and painting, words and images, archaeology and landscape, these are my interests. Oh, and tenth century England. My books are stocked at Frome's independent booksop, Winstone's Hunting Raven and available from Waterstone's. Or from me via Instagram.

I shall be giving an informal talk about the Wessex kings in Frome and Cheddar on Saturday 27th November 2021 at 11am, in Frome Library. Come and say hello!

Published in December 2017, this is the story of Athelstan, first king of England. And more besides. The book synthesises archaeology, history, place names and folklore to understand how the central Wessex region came to be.
Published by Hobnob Press in December 2017.

The Gorge is the story of Edmund of Wessex and England and his wife, Elgiva of Shaftesbury. Published by Hobnob Press, August 2021

I am writing about the later Wessex and England kings (September 2021) and will let you know when the third book in the trilogy is available. Should be published in 2022.

Frome is where I live and where I come from. Wessex is my country.
